He stood there for about 10 minutes, as if in a trance, his face ashen white. Allegedly he heard the following conversation between Our Lord and Satan:

The guttural voice, the voice of Satan in his pride, boasting to Our Lord: "I can destroy your Church"
The gentle voice of Our Lord: "You can? Then go ahead and do so."
Satan: "To do so, I need more time and more power."
Our Lord: "How much time? How much power?
Satan: "75 to 100 years, and a greater power over those who will give themselves over to my service."
Our Lord: "You have the time, you will have the power. Do with them what you will."

A lot of people, devout lay and clergy alike, scratch their head as to why Jesus would allow such thing to happen, giving Satan such power to ruin everything. If you’re following what’s happening in our society in terms of morals (or the lack of), and what’s happening within the Church, you’ll see that Satan was indeed given such power and was about (I said “about”, not “already”) to destroy the Church. So why?
I believe it’s freedom. The Church had her glorious days leading up to the Middle Ages, when people were expected to live good moral lives, when temptations were kept at bay, when immorality was condemned. There is nothing wrong with this picture. Now forward the clock to the present. Immorality, especially sexual immorality, violence, and the filth find their way to our homes, to TV, to movies, to the Internet, to our email inbox. Today’s followers must exercise their freedom to remain faithful. It is not easy anymore. Cohabitation is considered the norm, if not virtuous (compared to multiple partners). The confusion of gender must be respected, if not outright adored. Bill 28 just passed today, the address of Father and Mother will be dropped. Abortion is respected and funded from conception to birth. Euthanasia is a right. Marijuana will likely be legalized.
I think the Blessed Lord is building an army, a truly glorious one, that will choose Him freely on a daily basis, saying NO to instant and constant filth bombardments from the Internet, TV, etc…, on a minute by minute basis, on a second by second basis, who in their heart of hearts truly adore and desire the Lord alone.
Tony Chowhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16838143091637666420noreply@blogger.com
